1. The difference between 2.92 and SMA or 3.5mm
The male pin is shorter than that of an SMA or 3.5mm to ensure that the outer contacts of the male and female connectors engage before the pin and female receptacle do. This ensures that the pin and socket will not see excessive wear and mating stress seen by misalignment in an SMA or 3.5mm connector. The 2.92mm connector also has a thicker wall than a standard SMA. The 2.92mm series mates with SMA and 3.5mm connectors
2. Description of BNC Connectors
BNC Connectors are developed in the late 1940s as a miniature version of the Type C connector. BNC stands for Bayonet Neill Concelman and is named after Amphenol engineer Carl Concelman. The BNC product line is a miniature quick connect/disconnect RF connector. 3. How to use an adaptor?
Adapters are used to make reliable transitions from one connector interface to another. They are typically used for test and measurement, between equipment mounted connectors and devices under test.
