Hualink's fixed attenuators are available in SMA, N type, 2.92mm, 2.4mm, 1.85 mm series, operating from DC-6GHZ/12.4GHZ/18GHZ/40GHZ/50GHZ/67GHZ. This type N attenuators has a female gender in and a female gender out. Type N female to Type N female attenuator is rated for a maximum RF attenuation value of 40dB. Our 40dB fixed attenuator with Type N connectors is built with black anodized aluminum heatsink body material for reaching higher power.

1. What is RF Coaxial attenuator?
RF microwave attenuators (also known as RF pads) lower the amplitude of a signal (attenuate) a known amount and can be used in a wide variety of applications. These attenuator pads are used when a signal needs to be reduced to protect measurement equipment or other circuitry, to extend the range of power meters and amplifiers and to impedance match circuits by reducing the VSWR seen by adjacent components. RF attenuators can prevent signal overload in amplifiers, receivers and detectors, adjusting the signal level to a range that is optimal.
2. How to clarify both directional and bi-directional attenuators?
Bidirectional attenuators means the maximum rated power can be applied to either the input or output. Unidirectional attenuators means the maximum rated power can only be applied to the input port. Unidirectional designs features smaller overall package sizes and reduced costs. We have clearly specified the attenuator's direction on the datasheet if it is a unidirectional attenuator. We always laser mark IN on the uni-directional attenuator ports.
