1. Introduction

This SMA to TNCA series adaptors are a precision adaptors that design to broadband from DC to 18GHz with passivated stainless steel body and gold plated contact pin. It has good performance working to 18GHz.

TNC series RF connector is a kind of RF coaxial element with threaded connection (7/16-28UNEF). The threaded connection provides the condition for the leakage protection at the interface junction, and also provides the guarantee for the stability of the boundary drawing in the state of insertion.

At present, the commonly used characteristic impedance of 50 TNC connectors are used in the frequency of 11GHz and 18GHz.The TNCA connector with a frequency of 18GHz uses air medium.

Description of TNC Connectors

Developed in the late 1950s, the TNC stands for Threaded Neill Concelman and is named after Amphenol engineer Carl Concelman. Designed as a threaded version of the BNC, the TNC series features screw threads for mating. TNC connectors are miniature, threaded weatherproof units with a constant 50 ohm impedance, operating from DC-11 GHZ.

There are two types of TNC connectors: Standard and Reverse Polarity. Reverse polarity is a keying system accomplished with a reverse interface, and ensures that reverse polarity interface connectors do not mate with standard interface connectors. RP TNC accomplishes this by inserting female contacts into plugs and male contacts into jacks.
