RF coaxial connector life test treasure trove, tried to say good!

RF coaxial connector life test treasure trove, tried to say good! For many customers, rf coaxial connector products are purchased with price considerations in mind, as well as issues related to the life of RF coaxial connectors

Prepare a RG223 test cable assembly (BXT P/N:RG223-03-03-1000A) with Nm at the second end, the nuts and outer conductors of the Nm connectors tested are made of copper-plated tri-alloy material, and the inner conductors are made of gold-plated brass. Some of the following conditions need to be met to complete this experiment:

1) Test the Nm interface at one end, dock with an Nf connector, connect and remove with a wrench. For accuracy, Nf connectors made of stainless steel are used, and in general, connectors in stainless steel have a lifespan of 1,000 times, which is exactly twice as high as copper.

2) One cycle for each plug-in, measuring the insertion loss of the cable assembly and the standing wave of the interface of the tested end every 100 plugs, and recording the value at the 2.2GHz frequency point. A total of 2,400 trials were conducted.

Although the above test is only for one RF connector, we can draw some conclusions from the test results:

1) If all products are used in accordance with the rules, the life of the RF connector will be significantly more than 500 times the standard value;

2) No insertion losses and wave-stationed jumps were found at a particular frequency point throughout the frequency band.

3) The insertion loss value of the RF connector increases gradually with mechanical wear; And the station wave is almost unchanged; From the process point of view, there does not seem to be a clear failure point, so in the production line, if there is no obvious failure of the cable, should establish a mandatory scrap system to ensure the test indicators.
